Travis Powell, Principal
Hello! I am Travis Powell, Principal at Lake Superior Elementary School. I am responsible for supporting and encouraging all the educational excellence you have come to expect from the wonderful teachers and staff at both Lake Superior Intermediate and Lake Superior Learning Community. I worked at LSE as a teacher for five years before becoming principal and have met many of the students and families that make our school community so great.
In my role as the principal for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students, I look forward to meeting even more of you and working together to ensure that your child’s educational experience is the best it can be. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. The best way to get in touch with me is by email, at email@example.com. You can also call the school and leave a message for me at 715-682-7083. Please be sure to include the best way to get back to you in your message. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout this school year.
This year our district is continuing to pay special attention to helping our students improve their literacy skills. Our excellent teachers are developing and expanding various ways to support your child’s literacy growth. One way you can support this at home is to look for opportunities to read with your child every day. Research shows that students who read for 20 minutes every day can have a significant advantage over those who don’t read each day. Your child’s teacher will be sharing many other ways for you to partner with them to help develop your child’s literacy. I thank you in advance for your attention to this important aspect of your child’s education.
Here’s to 2016-2017 – The next great year in your child’s educational adventure!
Our mission at LSI School is to "Inspire and Empower All Students to Succeed Through Innovative Learning".
A highly qualified, dedicated staff highlights LSI School. We have excellent, dedicated teachers and support staff, a strong custodial and maintenance staff, and kitchen personnel who embrace our school's mission. Our PTA's influence is apparent throughout our school and our volunteer program is active and growing.
We work in cooperation with the Bad River Ojibwe Reservation to infuse Native American culture into our school to celebrate our diversity, educate our students and build bridges between our communities.
What makes our school complete are the great students who attend LSI & LSLC!
