Early Release

Today, the knowledge and skills our children need at the time of their graduation is greater than ever. This means our teaching staff must continually grow and learn. Although much of this professional development takes place during the summer, the School District of Ashland has a series of early release days and full days in which the teaching staff will be engaged in professional learning.

We know the early release days can be disrupting to families. While they are necessary, the District has not always done a good job explaining what kind of professional learning takes place during early release days.

Therefore, during the 2019-20 school year, we will share information about the type of professional learning that takes place during early release days. We will also explain the objectives of each early release day training and how what is learned by the teaching staff that day will raise student achievement.

If you have any questions or ideas about how we can better inform you about early release dates, please call 715.682.7080 or apopovich@sdak12.net.
