Enrollment Information & Procedure for the School District of Ashland
Thank you for choosing to enroll in the School District of Ashland, where we offer a variety of learning opportunities to support each student's individual talents and interests. We also offer various Educational Options per our Education Options policy.
Parents seeking to enroll their child(ren) in the Ashland School District must reside within our district boundaries or be participants in the state of Wisconsin DPI's Open Enrollment or Wisconsin DPI's Tuition Waiver program for inter-district enrollment. To verify that your residence is in the School District of Ashland boundaries, please contact Lake Shore Bus company at (715) 682-3669 or utilize online residence search options (Ashland County Resident Property Search / Bayfield County Resident Property Search / WI Department of Public Instruction Resident Address Map). Students must be four years old on or before September 1 of the upcoming school year to enroll in the District's 4-year-old Kindergarten program and five years old on or before September 1 of the upcoming school year to enroll in the District's Kindergarten program. 4K and KG program registration are encouraged in addition to the District's enrollment process as outlined below.
You may enroll your child(ren) as a student in the School District of Ashland any time during the year. Please call the School District of Ashland's District Office, (Monday through Friday between 7:30 am to 3:30 pm) at (715) 682-7080 to obtain enrollment information and forms.
The following documents are needed to enroll your student(s) into the School District of Ashland:
- Photo ID of the parents or guardians
- If you are a Legal Guardian - Court documentation
- If you are a Foster Parent - Foster Parent certificate and Court documentation
- If you have temporary custody from parents, a notarized letter from parents
- Proof that you reside in the District's boundaries (must be one of the following items):
- Residential rental agreement or,
- Residential purchase agreement or,
- Residential utility bill or,
- Recent property tax bill or,
- Recent Legal Document with Ashland residential address on it.
- Child(ren)'s Birth Certificate
- Student Immunization Record Form
- Any other court documentation pertinent to your child(ren).
All of the above documentation must be presented to complete the enrollment process. The enrollment procedure may take approximately 1 to 3 school days to process before the student's first day of school can be scheduled.
After completion of the enrollment appointment:
- The first day of school will be determined
- Records will be requested from previous school: Immunization Records, School Records, IEP Records (if applicable)
- If you are enrolling a high school student, please contact the Ashland High School Guidance office at (715) 682-7089 to schedule an appointment to create your students' class schedule.
- The school Administrative Assistant will:
- Create the student's schedule/assign them to a teacher,
- Dispense school-specific forms and documents.
- You will receive an email with instructions so that you are able to log into Skyward Family Access
- Skyward Family Access gives you the ability to view your students:
- teachers & classes,
- grades,
- attendance,
- pay food service,
- pay other fees,
